Buzz Murphy
George (Buzz) Murphy, CISSP, CCSP, SSCP, CASP, is a public speaker, corporate trainer, author, and cybersecurity evangelist who, over the past three decades, has touched the lives of thousands of adult learners around the world on a variety of technical and cybersecurity topics.
A former Dell technology training executive and U.S. Army IT networking security instructor, he has addressed audiences at national conferences, major corporations and educational institutions including Princeton University, University of Michigan, University of Texas, and the National University of Singapore as well as having trained network and cybersecurity operators for the U.S. military branches and various U.S. government security agencies including the Federal Reserve Bank, Sandia National Laboratory, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and NASA.
As a military data center manager in Europe, he has held top-secret security clearances in both US and NATO intelligence and through the years has earned over thirty-three IT and cybersecurity certifications from such prestigious organizations as ISC2, CompTIA, PMI, and Microsoft, and other industry certification organizations. He is an ISC2 Senior Authorized Instructor currently specializing in international CISSP, SSCP and CCSP Cloud Security certification training across 12 countries.
He has authored, co-authored, or contributed to more than a dozen books on a wide range of topics including network engineering, industrial control technology and IT security, and recently served as technical editor for the ISC2 CCFP - Certified Cyber Forensics Professional Certification Guide published by McGraw-Hill, as well as technical editor for the recent publication by Wiley & Sons, Sybex CASP: CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner Study Guide by Michael Greg along with serving as technical editor on three Sybex CompTIA Security+ Study Guide publications. He is a contracted author with Sybex, a Wiley Publishing imprint and the National Cyber Security Institute, Washington, DC.
He is currently author of the Wiley & Sons, Sybex publication SSCP: Systems Security Practitioner Study Guide.
